We should put end to Lou's lies. Let's be creative. We thought of the flower campaign, we all have higher degrees. There should be a way how to stop this guy. I think we are the only ones who can do it.
By the way, Lou's ancestors came to USA also legally like us. What is the difference then? Really the only people who have the right to criticize the legal immigration to USA are the native Americans. I know that this argument would never success with the general public here but I believe it's true.
I don't think that Lou's ancestors even had visas. They probably came on the Mayflower, went to Ellis island and were just allowed to live anywhere they chose. Atleast we came here with legal paperwork.

Section 201 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) sets an annual minimum family-sponsored preference limit of 226,000. The worldwide level for annual employment-based preference immigrants is 140,000. Section 202 prescribes that the per-country limit for preference immigrants is set at 7% of the total annual family-sponsored and employment-based preference limits, i.e., 25,620. The dependent area limit is set at 2%, or 7,320.
Given this is legislation, I don't think rule changes can trump it. I don't believe per country limits will change. Besides, how is that a solution to anything? This is not an Indian or Chinese issue. It's a legal immigrant issue.

My and my employer talked to National Customer Service Center and they dont provide any information other than opening service requests. My employer asked her to connect him to an IO and she said she doesnt have authorization to do so. what the heck? Is there anyway to talk to an IO rather than the customer service rep. Please let me know if anyone has done that before and how they were able to get to them.

Just two things:
1. Make up your mind about your last name and stick with it. Jumping last names can create trouble for you in future. I work for a bank and two different last names mean different people, your credit report will also be messed up so in the long run you will have a lot of pain.
2. Since your first name has three names, and I am guessing out of those two one would be your town and other you father name or something like that, it would be hlepful for you to convert them to single letter and just keep your given name as full name. Most of the systems in US cannon handle three first names and you will face this trouble again and again even if you get it figured out in the visa.
For your current problem just state that your new 797 is approved with a wrong last name, and talk to a lawyer. If he asks show him your new passport and explain the reason for the last name change.
DMV story will create unnecessary confusion so skip it.

Please don't travel thru countries that impose this ridiculous transit Visa requirement on individuals, especially from India. Ask them to justify the charges, and you would get no response from them.
So, even if takes to spend $200 - 300 more, AVOID these crook countries that charge Transit Visa. People we must send the message across. In this century, I think its Indians that are traveling the most on these trans-atlantic-asia route, and collectively avoiding these 'snob' countries would send a very good signal.
If you are buying the transit visa, your dignity is at stake. Its like saying buying insurance for a person who is poor. They dont charge for countries that are more developed. so, AVOID AVOID these countries.
I am traveling to India soon, and I am going thru Brussels not because I got a cheap ticket, but because there is no transit visa required there.
I had to apply for UK transit visa last time I went to India (air india). This time I am taking non-stop Chicago to Delhi. I agree about avoiding countries that require transit visa.

Who r u to ask him to get lost??? Just becoz u have so many greens dozn't mean that u can rule the roost. Therez something called as freedom of speech and hez just using it. Its a free forum and u cant dictate terms here while u r a member here urself. Accept the truth and live with it. Whyz that some desis get so offended when someone rightly points out the dirty behavior of desi employers? He has a point and u need to respect that. And yes this is immigration related and causes awareness among the legal immigrant community. If that dozn't get into ur thick skull then God knows what doz. Yes, the motive of the original poster could be questioned due to the nature of his first post. But do we really have a set rules for the first post. I have seen some new members getting reds coz they ask for help in their first post and get bombarded for not contributing or helping others.
This post does not and cannot imply that any significant percentage of indians are into visa scams to make money. Whatever the original posters intention, this is a relevant post since it is immigration related. Most indians and similarly most EB GC applicants are legal, law abiding folks. Lets not get offended or take this personally. We have to mature and show that just coz some section of 'our' people do a misdeed does not reflect that all of those people are of the same color or morals.

The above is quite interesting. I saw people who were laid off and had question about applying for UI if they are on EAD and this answer explains it really well.

Give us some break. I come to IV site to get some information on immigration issues and what I get are 'n' numbers of threads for same issue. ---- ADMIN FIX.......

A lot of people lack motivation because they just canniot pull the trigger and once in a while we must give some push.
I am a chapter lead and I do play an important role - go to the state chapters page and look up for my name, thanks for ur suggestion about contacting pappu
