I get this response from the USCIS calculator: Your Expected Date of Adjudication is Aug, 2010.
My priority date is Sept -05, EB3-ROW.
My lawyer says that there is very little chance of me getting greencard within 3 years.
I'm not sure which is correct. Does anyone have an idea?

Don�t be so happy on that. The reasons behind that is to make sure that plenty of people filed in next couple of months and retrogressed again in the following months so that all people get stuck at their EAD and AP. Don�t you know that EAD & AP are issue in yearly basis, with the fee increase, that�s how they make money. The advantage of this is all the spouses can work and kids will get in state tuition fee, but the wait time for getting your GC will be indefinitely. Be happy and joy whatever you want now, but don�t cry and complaint later saying I have been stuck in EAD & AD for more than 5 years, and remember if your EAD renewal is pending and the current EAD is expired, you are out of status and out of luck.
Another reasons on that is to ease the anger of legal immigrant, look now, everyone is so happy and forgot in last couple of months everyone is bitching about the right of legal immigrant getting the GC. I bet you, with the July bulletin, that will silent most of the selfish people like you and me on the legal immigrant issue.

My labor was approved Friday, 7/13/07 (online status) after 4 year wait. It took 2 weeks from the time we sent Recruitment Response. Hope to receive Certified notice from DOL by end of this week.

I called up the LA and Boston embassy and they are just playing the recorded message stating that transit visa is required. Pay $90 and all that stuff.

I hate to say this but this doesn't sound right. why there is so much resistance in sharing the information someone in donor forum got from uscis. You are asking(or may i say FORCING) people to donate before they can access that information. You guys can ban me and label me as some anti-immigrant, but this line ["Please become a donor to access this information"] doesn't seem right way to attract new donors...not right at all. I will even stick my neck and say that whole "donation thing" sounds little shady to me. :mad:

One of the main reason for staying behind is the quality of life we enjoy in the US. The IT, business, and engineering jobs we are doing here are some of the highest paying in the world. That is if you are not being exploited by the desi IT firms.
Qulaity of life also includes the clean environment, access to medical facilites, some of the best schools/universities in the world. In other parts of the world you are always concerned about the security situation. I remember going to bed at night and being worried about people breaking into our house. We enjoy relative peace and stability in this country.
You can come to the US and one day be an American. You cannot do this in france and/or england. You will always be looked as an outsider. They are very racist socities and you will never be given the opportunity. In france they put all the immigrants in projects and then complain that they are worthless.
I agree that the current situation is bad but we have to lobby and get our point across. This governemnet will NOT make any changes unless it affects them and since we are all non voters this is not going to make any difference. Only companies that have influence on Caitol hill can make a difference. Until then we can just wait and hope for the best.

I have a thought, right now the housing industry is slowing down, The new home sales have dropped signinficantly last month.
We all know that Indians and Chinese are very good savers and have significant amount of their salary saved. Normally Indians and Chinese do not commit to buy a home when their GC is in process. They wait for a GC to be approved and buy a house only after they get their GC.
SO CAN WE TAP INTO THE LOBBYISTS FROM THE HOUSING INDUSTRY??
My thesis is one of the MAIN reasons in the new homes slow down is that people are waiting either at labor stage in BEC or in stage 3 for priority date for GC to be approved to buy houses.
We are talking about well educated well paid immigrants who have a very good discipline of saving and will definitely become home owners if GC is approved faster.
SO CAN WE CONVINCE THE HOUSING INDUSTRY LOBBYISTS TO FUND OUR LOBBYING OR USE THEIR RESOURCES FOR OUR JUST CAUSES??

Friends,
my company's lawyer will be swamped with new I-485 applications, since everyone eligible is already sending applications.
I am in the process of preparing 2 packets so that if he delays I can file by myself before retrogression hits again.
Now, my question is: Can I attach a courtesy copy of already approved I-140 when filing I-485? Also I do not have A#!!! I guess that is not all that important, since when my I-140 was processed there was retrogression.
Word of caution for everyone: On June 16th USCIS published new memo overriding Yates memo, basically saying that they will have a descretionally right to either issue RFE with less than 120 days for response and/ or deny and reject cases where initial evidence is missing. So, carefully prepare all your applications...check all docs and files, money orders, filing fees, etc etc...
I filed my AOS at the beginning of May and included a copy of the I140 approval notice. My A# was on my approval notice fortunately. I carefully put my packet of application together according to my employers instructions so this memo is not much use to me right now. However, am hopeful it all works out since we have already had fingerprints done within a month of application. I believe that if they simply deny all applications if initial evidence is missing, however, that chaos would ensue and they would be bombarded with appeals. Not good for anyone involved.

No. I didn't since I don't have any travel plans. I will wait for couple of weeks and then I will open a SR. Actually this delay is good for me, I will get few extra months to plan my next year trip.
