can anyone tell me the BEC will clear all cases by 9/2007 or only RIR case?
I do not think BEC will clear even the RIR cases by 9/2007. There are several RIR cases stuck in that awful black hole back to year 2002.

Well....
The stated goal of numberusa people is to stop any increase in the immigration numbers....Now whatever proposals they put out are just to cause fight among us and cause delays and dithering....They would pretend tolisten to us and pretend to cooperate with us and just waste our time and energy...They are not the law makers anyway...I donot believe that it would be productive to talk to numbers usa.
Look at this arguement...Once we start talking to them they would start campaigning that even H1Bs think that the system is discriminatory and abolish the program completely...They would twist any sentence you say and use it to their own anti immigration campaign...Be careful who you try to cooperate with...

USCIS is fine. My lawyer is one of the prominent immigration lawyers in USA and his staff had advised this. Anyway, if you have doubts, then it is best to speak to USCIS. They would help you out.
Can some one confirm, which one is correct as there are posts calling for ceques written for both USCIS & DOJ
This is extremely important as whole application will be rejected if the cheque is wrongly addressed

Everyone must write their experiences and petition and let their politicians know. People must gather here and do something about it.
Believe me folks, if we keep avoiding just out of fear - we cannot achieve anything.
Stay bold - do something about it. IV is a wonderful platform for all of us to help ourselves. So lets make best use of it

Asians and moreso Indians are passive and everyone takes advantage of this. WE SHOULD SPEAK UP..but thr' the right channel and at the right time. As far as I know, I-485 is not the petition for Visa whereas, I-140 is the immigration petition. Your I-485 stems from the underlying I-140. I-485 is merely an adjustment of Staus from non-immigrant to immigrant intent if you are already in this country.
Let's see how this all plays out. After seeing yesterday's amendments, all my anxiety changed into laughter as that's how pathetic this bill is at this point.

This funny business of turning away non-immigrant workers at airports/consulates must be tackled head on by IV. This is outrageous behavior on the part of immigration officials. If a person has valid visa then it automatically implies that all the concerns of DOL have been addressed. Immigration officials have no business poking there nose in it.
We must draw a line here. Let's tell CIS is that we can not take the crap any further. Such kind of behavior on their part plays havoc with temporary workers life. Just imagine what happens when a family is split in half due to the denial of reentry.

i agre with u 100% but doesnt mean everything is that smooth for eliminating GC delays ... its a two sided argument both sides have valid points but at the same in deed effects the jobs of many ( whether some are harassed by desi consulting thatz a second frame ) what will happen if this bill is made in to law , how many visa nos got wasted may be 100K 10 years and INS is damn slow even if this bill passes it takes a lot to adjust whereas H1 comes in to pic right away. there will be mass layoffs ppl will be out of status and it takes time to get a new job man , its not a fruit just pluck and eat. with many ppl coming outofstatus getting jobs would be tough. Now companies dont wait for 6 months. May be u got ur ead hence might be commenting this way.

Another thing to try and do is (if not done already), is to look for search engine directory listings like http://www.dmoz.org (the biggest one) and add them to the different search engines.
The more we get smaller search engines to spider IV's site the better. I tried adding IV to dmoz under immigration last week. It was not sucessful so i tried it again today under different sections (Pro immigration and US immigration).
The other thing we can try and do is get as many partnership links as possible from bigger better websites (easier said than done, i know).
You could get banned by repeated inclusions.
I would suggest adding links to immigrationvoice.org from other websites with good page rank will help increase the popularity.
I would also suggest putting ads from google to generate revenue for the noble work we are doing.

Don�t be so happy on that. The reasons behind that is to make sure that plenty of people filed in next couple of months and retrogressed again in the following months so that all people get stuck at their EAD and AP. Don�t you know that EAD & AP are issue in yearly basis, with the fee increase, that�s how they make money. The advantage of this is all the spouses can work and kids will get in state tuition fee, but the wait time for getting your GC will be indefinitely. Be happy and joy whatever you want now, but don�t cry and complaint later saying I have been stuck in EAD & AD for more than 5 years, and remember if your EAD renewal is pending and the current EAD is expired, you are out of status and out of luck.
Another reasons on that is to ease the anger of legal immigrant, look now, everyone is so happy and forgot in last couple of months everyone is bitching about the right of legal immigrant getting the GC. I bet you, with the July bulletin, that will silent most of the selfish people like you and me on the legal immigrant issue.

What I would suggest is take Tetanus, MMR from a local city/county clinic which is of free of cost and valid for next 5-10 years. You( and your spouse) should take these two exams first if you don't any have vaccination records.
Take an appointment for TB Test for July 13th/14th. If the dates are current and your I-140 gets approved by that time you are good to go for test. Else you can cancel the appointment.
One caution. In pregnecy period women should not take MMR. If they take they have to wait for three months to plan the kid.

Stick this on our chest and take a snap shot. Collect some of these photos and send them to media/USCIS. At least we can put the photos in IV web site.

i have just called uscis and first they told we r not accepting any applicaitons b/w july 2 and july 17th mine was applied on july 2nd .she told they would have rejected my applicaiton bcos they r not accepting at that time but i told her still we dint get any application back after that she told me to wait for 30 to 45 days thats was she said.she dint tel any thing like visa numbers availability
