@Alex: I like your will to file compliant. There are lot of people who want to do this, but doesn't have enough courage to even start the process. You did the first step by looking for information on how to file compliant. Since you decided to go back, I dont want to comment on other options
I saw one post on the thread by "Mayday" (its the ONLY relevant post for your initial question) on how to file complaint. Please follow that. I tried to search for more details, but I counldn't get more. Also please contact DOL (www.dov.gov, just call them, If I'm in your place I will do the same) see if they can provide any info. Some where I read that we can even complain from our own country. check that.
Most of the people in this forum are kind of "zombies".( they will get back to normal life once they receive their GC) Please ignore them.

My Application is also in Texas. I got a Soft LUD too... Seems like they are also preadjudicating

Looking at your RD reminds me of a friend of mine who has a I-485 RD of Dec 2004, but he is in EB3. Unfortunately his NameCheck was not clear even in the July 2007 fiasco, the reason he is still not green !
He and his wife recently sold their house and everything else and left their jobs and moved back to India! Enjoying themselves there while their I-485 application papers turn yellow !

2) Some states give driving licenses that is valid until the EAD expiry or H1-B I-94 expiry. With H1-B, your hassle of DL renewal is reduced to one third of EAD based.
Its preposterous that USCIS does not allow LEGAL prospective permanent immigrants using EAD to bring their spouses!!

If the USCIS processing times are to be believed, they are supposed to take between 12 and 15 months to decide on a currently filed application (the server seems to be down now, so couldn't verify the latest status). There may be additional time differences depending on where you are located. It is my general feeing. Do anyone wonder what makes this country great? Gigantic? World Leader? Inspite of feeling expressed by arupkumarsaha.

Leave the PR and outreach efforts on Capitol Hill efforts to the core members. We need help from other members who are willing to dedicate their efforts to getting members. Talk to family, friends and colleagues. Talk to people in your classes, if you are taking part-time classes. Talk to your boss. Talk to your neighbors who are US citizens and get them to talk to Congressmen and Senators...send emails and letters to your Congressmen and Senators!
Once again, following up on what nycgal369 said, exactly what amount people contribute is in some ways not what we care first and foremost for. Please contribute what you can comfortably handle within your budget. Whether it is $20, or $ 50 or $500 is your call...the important thing is that people start contributing something...we need funds to support our lobbying activities. And please be assured...all expenses will be audited by a CPA. We are legally obligated to do this.
Another point that nycgal369 raised is about community outreach efforts...we are already in touch with organizations, both on the left and the right. Please leave that to us. Please help us out with recruiting members and with raising money...

Yes, I'm on H-1B but I prudently avoided having any significant financial or personal ties in this country, because I knew this day would come.

Can i know why you were called for personal interview. Is your I-485 Based on future Employment or did u have an Arrest record. If You have a record it might take a while to get your back ground check.

It not just matter of Idea but it is the matter of attitude. It is one thing to generate thought provoking ideas and other thing to say things like
"So to avoid sounding stupid and foolish and desperate when you call".
By the way "pointless" is one of the those people who have been leaving comments like "chuteya" when giving red dots.
How do I know that ? a regular member may not be able to view this information but certainly moderators can.
So the intentions and very credibility of this person ("pointless") is in question!
I like idea of doing both ( calls + signatures)
